Dunsany Estate is a purpose-driven business, not a charity. We believe nature restoration and financial sustainability can – and should – go hand in hand.

By building a viable commercial model around rewilding and regenerative land use, we’re showing that protecting nature can be both impactful and profitable. This approach allows us to reinvest directly into the land, community initiatives, and conservation efforts we care deeply about.

With the support of our partners, we’re pioneering a new way forward – where business fuels meaningful environmental change, protects both natural and built heritage while inspiring others to do the same.

Dunsany Estate helps developers meet Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements by providing a scalable, nature-based offsite solution that can align with planning regulations, putting biodiversity at the core of planning considerations by ensuring that the nature and habitats on a site that can’t be enhanced, can be replaced offsite – a place where they can be made measurably than before the development.

How We Support Developers:
  1. BNG-Offsite biodiversity gain – Businesess and Developers can select rewilded land at Dunsany Estate to compensate for biodiversity loss in their projects, ensuring compliance with any offsite BNG requirements.
  2. Detailed BNG Reporting – We provide quantifiable biodiversity data, including % habitat improvement, species increases, and carbon sequestration, to support planning applications.
  3. Regulatory Alignment – 3 of Dublin’s County Councils and other rural planning authorities are increasingly favouring development proposals that incorporate BNG, making our solutions a strategic advantage when submitting plans.
  4. Long-Term Ecological Management – We ensure that rewilded areas are maintained, improved and monitored for ongoing biodiversity gains, helping businesses and developers report on their commitments.

By integrating Dunsany Estate’s BNG solutions, developers may increase approvals, enhance sustainability credentials, and future-proof projects against tightening environmental regulations.
