Community
At Dunsany Estate, community is at the heart of everything we do. Through shared experiences in nature, we nurture connection, collaboration, and conservation.
Together, Between soil & Sky
At Dunsany Estate, community grows through shared experiences in nature. From volunteering and learning to gathering around for food and events, each moment strengthens the connection between people and the land. Together, we’re creating a place where nature and community thrive side by side.
Community
Connecting People and Nature
At Dunsany Estate, we believe that restoring nature goes hand in hand with fostering a deeper connection between people and the environment.
Our community initiatives provide opportunities for individuals, charities, local community groups, students & organisations to engage with the land, support biodiversity, and create lasting experiences in nature.
Community
Why Reconnection Matters
Spending time in nature has been shown to improve mental well-being, physical health, and overall happiness.
By immersing community in the natural world, we inspire a sense of responsibility and stewardship for the landscapes we restore.
Our programs offer hands-on conservation, guided nature walks, outdoor gatherings, and immersive experiences designed to reconnect all with the wild.
Community
Gathering Around Food
Food has the power to bring people together, and our communal dining experiences celebrate this.
We host outdoor meals using locally grown produce, bringing together businesses, and community groups to share in the simple joy of eating in nature.
These experiences encourage slow living, meaningful conversations, and an appreciation for seasonal, sustainable food.

Community Volunteering
Our community volunteering days are open to everyone – no experience needed.
Held several times throughout the year, these days are a great way to immerse yourself in nature, meet like-minded people, and take part in real conservation work.
Activities include tree planting, clearing invasive species, nature surveys, and helping maintain key areas across the estate.
If you’d like to get involved, simply reach out and register your interest – we’ll be in touch ahead of our next volunteering event.

Ecology & Wildlife Volunteering
For students studying Ecology, Horticulture, Botany, Sustainability or Biodiversity, we offer opportunities to support rewilding through research and monitoring.
Volunteers assist in measuring biodiversity, tracking carbon impact, and contributing to long-term conservation data in partnership with our nature restoration data platform partners, Dulra.
We like to partner with universities and colleges to provide this as part of practical coursework for academic credit.
If you’re a student or lecturer interested in collaborating, we’d love to hear from you.
